FAQ
Answers to common questions about Clicker-Strike.
The game
What is Clicker-Strike?
A free idle game themed on Counter-Strike. Every click is a kill and every kill earns cash. Spend it on better guns and a team of hires who earn for you, open cases for skins, and rank up from Silver I to Global Elite.
Is it free?
Yes. It runs in your browser and there is nothing to buy.
Do I need to download anything?
No. Press Play for free and the game starts in your browser.
What happens when I rank up?
Ranking up starts your run over with a permanent bonus to clicks and hires. The more cash you earned, the more rank points you get, and you spend them in the rank-up skill tree.
Progress and saves
Where is my progress saved?
In your browser on this device. The game saves every 30 seconds and when you close the tab. Clearing your browser data deletes the save.
Can I move my save to another device or browser?
Yes. In Settings, use Export save to copy your save as text, then Import save on the other device.
Do I earn while I am away?
Yes. Your hires keep earning at half speed for up to 8 hours, and market sell orders keep filling.
Cases, skins and the market
What are the case odds?
The same rates as Counter-Strike: Mil-Spec 79.92%, Restricted 15.98%, Classified 3.2%, Covert 0.64%, and a knife or gloves 0.26%.
What do skins do?
Equip them in your loadout for bonuses. T-side skins boost your kills and CT-side skins boost your hires. Rarer skins, better wear, StatTrak and skins from newer cases give bigger bonuses.
Are the skins worth real money?
No. Skins and cash only exist inside the game. They cannot be traded, sold or withdrawn, and nothing in the game is connected to Steam.
Pros, matches and tournaments
How do I get pros on my team?
Open the Pros tab and sign players from the transfer market. New pros come to the market as you earn more, in a random order for each save. Put five in your lineup and one as coach.
How do tournaments unlock?
The CCT Series is open from the start. Reach the final of an event to unlock the next one: ESL Challenger League, Major RMR, IEM and then the Major Championship.
What does my FACEIT level do?
Every match moves your ELO. Each level above 4 adds 4.5% to everything you earn, up to +27% at level 10. It is a game feature styled after FACEIT and has nothing to do with your real FACEIT account.
Can I turn off the event minigames?
Yes. Turn off Event minigames in Options and events pay out instantly at the normal amount.
Workshop, accounts and cloud saves
Do I need an account?
No. Playing, downloading packs and installing them never needs an account. Signing in through Steam is optional and only needed to publish packs, like packs, sync your save to the cloud and appear on the leaderboard.
What is the Workshop?
A gallery of content packs made by players. A pack can change pros, teams, cases, skins, maps, ranks, text, pictures and sounds. Press Play with this pack on a pack's page and the game installs it for you.
How do I make my own pack?
Open Make a pack on the Workshop (or Options > Content pack > Make a pack in the game). The editor starts from the Counter-Strike pack, so you only change what you want. Download your pack as a .cspack file, or publish it to the Workshop.
How do I install a .cspack file?
In the game, go to Options > Content pack > Import .cspack, pick the file, then choose the pack and press Reload with this pack.
Will a pack break my save?
No. Your save works with every pack. Anything a pack removes is only hidden, and it comes back when you switch to another pack.
How do cloud saves work?
Sign in through Steam in the game's Options. Your save is uploaded about once a minute and when you close the tab. On another device, sign in again and the game loads your newest save. If both have progress, it asks which one to keep.
Why am I not on the leaderboard?
You need to be signed in through Steam in the game, with Show me on the leaderboard turned on. Only careers on a built-in pack are ranked, because community packs can change the balance.
